The maintenance module handles two kinds of work: planned preventive maintenance and unexpected breakdowns. Both affect how the machine appears in planning.
In a preventive plan the tasks are entered as checklist items and the critical ones are flagged. The period is defined by two criteria and maintenance is raised by whichever comes first: calendar, for example every three months, or running hours, for example every five hundred hours calculated from the machine's actual running time.
When a maintenance order is started, the machine shows as under maintenance and its capacity for that day is closed in the schedule. The order cannot be completed until critical checklist items are ticked. Spare parts used create a stock issue voucher automatically. Maintenance cost consists of spare parts, labour and external service, and feeds the machine hourly rate and from there the work order cost.
