Tool crib

Tool cards, issue, return, regrinding and quarantine. Where each tool is, how often it was reground and how much life is left.

Cutting tools are the items most often lost in a shop and the ones whose cost is most easily overlooked. TIQERP records where each tool is, how many times it has been reground, how much life is left and who is using it.

There are three tracking types. Consumable tools track quantity only and leave stock when issued. Life tracked tools also follow cutting time. Serial tracked tools have an individual card each; issuing does not remove them from stock, only their holder changes, and they return to stock when handed back.

Holders, collets and inserts can be defined as assemblies, with presetter measurements recorded on the assembly and each card in only one assembly at a time. Regrind dispatch, return and remaining regrind allowance are tracked, and worn or damaged tools are put into quarantine.
